WHY DO WE EXIST?
Many young people in Nottingham face barriers to participation in sport including cost, lack of safe spaces, confidence, and access to structured pathways. We exist to ensure sport is a doorway, not a dividing line.
Athletic Academy CIC exists to remove those barriers and use basketball as a tool for connection, wellbeing, and long-term opportunity.

We work with children and young people across Nottingham, with a priority focus on those facing economic, social, or emotional disadvantage. Our programmes are designed to be inclusive, welcoming, and accessible regardless of background or prior experience.
WHY BASKETBALL?
Basketball is an accessible, low-cost sport with strong cultural relevance in urban communities. It enables rapid engagement, builds confidence, and fosters teamwork, discipline, and belonging, making it a powerful platform for personal development.
WHAT ARE OUR VALUES?
COMMUNITY FIRST We exist solely to benefit the community. All surplus and resources are reinvested into programmes that support children and young people in Nottingham.
INCLUSION & ACCESS We believe sport should be open to everyone. Our programmes are designed to remove barriers related to cost, background, confidence, or prior experience.
WELLBEING THROUGH SPORTS We use basketball as a tool to support physical health, mental wellbeing, confidence, and positive personal development.
